Is a ridge vent a good idea. We have never had one before. Our roofer suggested we use a ridge vent for better ventilation. I have never liked the look or idea of having a ridge vent. What do you suggest. We have about 9 different pitches to our roof being a 1.5 story home with a number of dormers and covered patio, garage, etc. going in quite a number of different directions.

    • Soffit and ridge ventiliation has proved to be the most effective ventilation system; however, if you do not prefer the appearance of ridge vents you can choose another type of exhaust system such as static vents, gable vents, power fans, etc. Visit http://www.airvent.com for more information.
