If you happened to tune in to FOX News on the morning of May 16, you may have seen a segment featuring several familiar fences.
During the 8 a.m. ET hour, renowned home improvement expert Skip Bedell and the hosts of America’s most-watched morning show FOX & Friends took to the streets of New York City to discuss outdoor living options from CertainTeed. More than 4.3 million viewers tuned in as Skip gave them pointers for framing their backyard living space and creating privacy with options from CertainTeed’s SimTek® and Bufftech® product lines.
The outdoor display consisted of some of CertainTeed’s most popular fence solutions, such as SimTek EcoStone® and Bufftech Brookline with CertaGrain® Texture. CertainTeed representatives Pat Sadler, manager, product application specialist; Matt Rapposelli, product manager for CertainTeed Outdoor Living; Matt Gibson, director of CertainTeed Vinyl and Marketing Communications; and Doug Mucher, senior marketing manager for CertainTeed Outdoor Living and Trim all made the trek to New York the day before the taping. It was an extra-early start at 4 a.m., when they arrived at the Plaza to set up the display and give Skip some pointers for using CertainTeed’s product lines.
“We were ecstatic to receive the request from FOX & Friends to feature our products during the show’s week-long home improvement special, especially knowing that the request was coming from national television personality and contractor Skip Bedell,” said Mucher. “We had a blast setting up the display and getting to watch the live taping in person.”
Aside from several CertainTeed team members having to hold the display panels up from behind during filming to keep them from swaying in the wind and strong storms impacting travel plans, the segment ran smoothly and garnered great exposure for CertainTeed’s stylish fence solutions.
