As the industry’s color leader, we’re always listening to our customers’ feedback and evaluating what colors to add and to which products. In 2019, we’re excited to extend 16 siding colors to a variety of products in the CertainTeed lineup.
Siding to Get New Colors

North Kingstown, RI, home featuring Monogram siding in rich Melrose.
Cedar Impressions
We’ve been blown away by the positive response to Cedar Impressions® Individual 5″ Sawmill Shingles‘ authentic cedar shingle appearance. After receiving a multitude of requests for solid colors to mimic the look of painted/dipped shingles, we’re proud to announce the launch of five solid colors to the Individual 5″ Sawmill Shingle panels and mitered corners: Colonial White, Natural Clay, Savannah Wicker, Seagrass and Sterling Gray.
Monogram
We’ll also be launching two new additional colors to the Monogram® line for the standard Double 4″ (D4) Clapboard, Double 5″ Clapboard and Double 5″ Dutchlap profiles, as well as to the extended length panels (16′, 20′ and 25′) in the D4 profile and to the Board & Batten Single 7″ family. These two new bold colors – Melrose, a saturated red apple color, and Brownstone, a bold, creamy chocolate color with hints of red – join the four colors added in 2018 (Espresso, Slate, Midnight Blue and Castle Stone). These new colors will also be introduced in a full line of complementary accessories that include: J-Channel, Undersill Trim, Outside Corner, Inside Corner, Bay Window Corner, T4 Universal Soffit and Trim Coil.
We have introduced a new solid color accessory for the Cedar Impressions Single 7″ Straight Edge Perfection Shingles that will very closely match the color Cedar Blend. The color will be available in the full line of Cedar Blend Solid accessories, which includes Outside Corner, Inside Corner, J-Channel, Undersill Trim, Cornice Mold and Bay Window Corner.
Northwoods
The Northwoods® Single 7″ Straight Edge Perfection profile will also receive three new colors in response to requests for lighter shades. The new colors include Colonial White, Sandstone Beige and Desert Tan.
MainStreet
We are pleased to expand more of our popular deluxe and dark colors to the MainStreet™ market family for 2019. Castle Stone, Sable Brown and Pacific Blue will be added to the Double 4″ Woodgrain Clapboard and Dutchlap and the Double 5″ Woodgrain Clapboard and Dutchlap profiles. The Castle Stone color will also be extended to the Carolina Beaded™ market family for 2019.
Lastly, we’re also expanding the Bermuda Blue color offering to the Beaded Triple 2″ Vinyl Carpentry soffit panel in both the solid and vented soffit profiles. The Sandstone Beige color will be added to the Value Triple 4″ soffit profile for both the solid and full vent profiles.
New Railing Options

Kingston railing with black aluminum balusters
EverNew
But color isn’t the only thing we’re focusing on in 2019. We also have some exciting news to share about the EverNew® vinyl railing system. Market feedback has led us to develop a new baluster/infill option for the Kingston and Oxford Vinyl Railing Systems. The 3/4″ round aluminum balusters in a matte black, powder-coated finish will be available for all six EverNew Vinyl rail colors in 3′ and 3.5′ tall, and flat or stair applications in either 6′ or 8′ lengths.
The EverNew Oxford vinyl railing will also have a design change on one baluster option. The Colonial style baluster will be replaced by the Classic style baluster. This change features only subtle design differences.
With these new colors and accents, customers are sure to find just the right mix and match of high-quality products to suit their style and create their own, personalized curb appeal.

The cedar impressions is gorgeous and hands down turns out the best. The darker colors give an immense opportunity to contrast with varying trims.
Really love the cedar colors here.. Also, those dark greys look awesome and leave a lot of opportunities for trim styles! Overall great selection of colors.
Hi David,
I am not sure which page you are referring to. If you want to shoot me a link, I’ll see what I can find.
On your siding color page you have a yellow home (crisp and exciting) and a blue/gray home (subtle and calm). What are the colors used in these pictures? Love the gray home with blue gables.
Siding, trim, and railing define the exterior of your house. The color option shared for siding, trim and railing in the blog is great and this will help homeowners to pick one according to their own ease. Furthermore, to get them painted, you should hire a professional exterior house painting company to get the desired results.
Hi Christine,
I am so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I do not know much about fiber cement siding. I would reach out to our https://www.certainteed.com/certainteed-contact-us“>Sales Support team for assistance. Thanks!
My siding faded! It was a Taupe color and it now looks purple. Why did it fade and what should we do to get it fixed? When we purchased the product, (which was very expensive) we were told that it wouldn’t fade. I think we need to hire a professional painter. Will it need to be primed first? I’ve very unhappy that it faded and we have to spend more money to get it painted. What is the best paint for fiber cement siding?
Have you looked at Pacific blue? It’s a pretty shade of blue used in this historic makeover.
I am looking for a medium shade of blue vinyl siding to match a grey roof and black shutters
Looking for 2 sq of Mainstreet Sandpiper D4 was discontinued a couple months ago, got to believe some vendor has some still setting around
It’s good to hear this new information about home improvement projects. I like it because i just recently got siding and i was wondering what else would add additional curb appeal to my home. I will use this advise on railings to get more ideas for my next project.
Hi Mary, I just checked with our product manager, and here is his response: “One of our most popular colors. Not going anywhere, anytime soon!” I think you’re safe. Good luck with the reno. We’d love to see pics when you’re done!
I am seeing the charcoal gray Mainstreet D4 on sale a few places. Before purchasing this siding for my garage, I want to make sure there are no plans to discontinue this style or color. The house is being renovated and resided later this year, but we are not in a position to purchase/store the house siding now.
I don’t want to choose a product that I may not be able to match later. Thank you.
I’m loving the dark grays, they are so versatile and allow for a rainbow of trim colors or even two! Thanks for the post! Looking through your site for design pages as well.
looking for monogram barn red rough ceoar D4 3311025 certainteed it was discontinued 1n 2014 wondering if anyone stii has any avalibale
Hi Marc, Good news! The Castle stone color is in an option in trim and soffit products that can be used with Monogram. Looks like you should be good to go!
Is certainteed monogram in castle stone color available in the same color for trim and soffets?
I’m siding my home with certainteed monogram vinyl in the castle stone color. Can all my trim and soffet be in the same color as castle stone. Trim in aluminum and soffet in vinyl? All in the same color.
Hi Deborah, I am sorry to inform you Ivy Green has been discontinued. We continually examine our color offering and make changes based on consumer demand. The good news is, it’s a relatively new discontinuation so if you call around you may still be able to find some in stock. I have my fingers-crossed for you!
Where is the Ivy Green?!?! I only need a small amount. Any chance there is enough for my project of 1458 sq ft?
Hi Judy, thanks for sharing. We unfortunately do not yet have a date as to when the dark gray will be available. As soon as we do have information we will be sure to share. If you have an immediate need your best bet would be to select from our current color options – which are plentiful!
I am also looking for a true dark grey. When will the new colors be out? I’m ready to side my house now.
Hi Betty, Have you tried our ColorCoach tool? It lets you easily compare color options that will go nicely with your Cobblestone Gray roof. It even suggests accent colors. The colors aren’t Sherwin-Williams specific but once you find a combination you like I am sure the experts there can help you find something comparable. You can find the Color Coach tool here – https://colorcoach.certainteed.com/colorcoach/
We have the Landmark shingles in the Cobblestone Gray color on our roof. What is a good color to use on house? We are looking at colors from Sherwin-Williams Paint.
Hi Janet, Autumn Yellow would probably be our “brightest” yellow offered. It’s not offered in every style, but it is a nice sunny yellow. You can find it in Monogram. Best, Cara
What is your brightest yellow vinyl siding? Can’t find marigold on a sample pallet.
Hi Linda, thanks for your comment. I shared your question with Robert Clark of our Siding team, here is his response: “We are pursuing dark grays for future color introductions in the lines. We are committed to being color leaders in siding. We want to continue to add in-demand, bold and modern colors to the line-up.” So stay-tuned – and keep the feedback coming!
I really wish you had a dark gray available. The color that you label as slate is actually a dark brown as per the chip that I have.
Slate is a misnomer because slate is typically gray or blue gray. when I click on that color on your website it does look like grey but the chip is clearly a dark dark brown.
Do you have plans to launch a cooler or less brown dark gray? It’s a very popular color in exterior house paint right now.
Thanks!
